    Almost EUR 1 Million in Support for Mobilized Colleagues

    Since 2022, Symphony and its customers have provided almost EUR 1 million for mobilized Symphonians while continuing to contribute to rehabilitation efforts in Ukraine.

    February 24 is not just a date in the calendar. For Ukrainians, it marks the moment life changed, and the moment resilience became everyday reality. At Symphony Solutions, we’ve learned one thing with absolute clarity over the past years: support is not a statement. It is consistency. It is action. And sometimes it is the quiet, practical decisions you keep making for your people, week after week. 

    This story is about that kind of support for Symphonians who were mobilized and continue to serve, and for the families and teams who carry that reality in the background. It is a record of what we did, and what we continue to do. 

    From the start, it was important for us to make sure mobilized colleagues knew three things: they have our full support and respect; they are welcome to return to work after service; and while they are away, we will help their families financially. We have stayed committed to that approach throughout these four years. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Symphony and its customers have provided EUR 913,222 to mobilized Symphonians, and the total contribution has reached EUR 1.4 million.  We are grateful to the customers who chose to contribute and help us sustain this support over time. This support continues, shaped by real needs and the people behind them. 

    Voices from Within: what Support Looks Like in Real Life 

    When a colleague is mobilized, there is often an initial rush of messages, lists, and urgent needs. But service doesn’t last a week. It can last months and years. And what truly changes things is not one-time help but knowing you are not left alone. 

    Below are stories and interview excerpts shared by Symphonians connected to mobilization and service. One conversation happened while the colleague is still serving, so it was done whenever there was a safe moment to connect. The other reflects what it feels like to return to civilian life and back to work after service. Some details are intentionally generalized to protect privacy. 

    Sergii: “You remember actions, not slogans” 

    Sergii joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 17, 2022 and continues to serve today. Before 2022, he says his military background was almost none. Like many, he had to adapt quickly and learn a new reality in a very short time. 

    We were able to catch Sergii when he had a brief window to connect. 

    Interviewer: Sergii, can you remind me when you were mobilized and how long you’ve been serving? 
    Sergii: May 17, 2022. 

    Interviewer: What military background did you have before that? 
    Sergii: Almost none. I did a military department course. 

    Sergii explains that later he retrained for the S-300, and that the learning curve was steep, but possible. When the interviewer asks what has been the hardest part, Sergii answers very simply. 

    Interviewer: What was the hardest part at the start? 
    Sergii: Daily life. Heat, cold, no proper place to wash, always in the field. That was more exhausting than the fact of war itself. 

    Interviewer: During active combat you weren’t working, which makes sense. But did you feel support from Symphony Solutions? 
    Sergii: Yes. There was support. 

    Interviewer: Let’s talk about money carefully and honestly. Was it a full salary or partial? 
    Sergii: Payments and support were there through almost the whole period. Overall, I received a certain amount through nearly the entire time I’ve been serving. 

    When asked about support, he remembers the moments when help arrived quickly and solved a real problem. 

    Interviewer: Do you remember a specific example of company support? 
    Sergii: Very clearly. At one point we had a problem with coolant. It was hard to find and replace quickly. Symphony Solutions helped and covered it for the whole column, and it truly saved the situation. 

    He also recalls support with basic essentials at the start of service. 

    Interviewer: How was it with gear? 
    Sergii: The company helped with the basics. Body armor, helmet, backpack. At that time it was high quality and very timely. 

    He also points to support that went beyond his own situation. 

    Sergii: In the unit, a guy I knew lost an arm. I know the company helped with a prosthetic. I remember it and I’m very grateful. 

    Interviewer: Do you feel you’ll be able to return to work after service? 
    Sergii: Yes, I’m not worried. I understand tech changes and I’ll need to refresh knowledge, but I’ve always felt I’ll come back and continue with the team. 

    For Sergii, the definition of support is straightforward: it is not words, but concrete actions taken at the right time. 

    Yurii: “coming back felt natural” 

    Yurii has been with Symphony Solutions since 2017. His mobilization happened suddenly. A notice came to his home, and within hours he was already at the unit. 

    Interviewer: How did your mobilization happen? What was the first day like? 
    Yurii: They brought the mobilization notice to my home. Everything happened very fast. That same evening, I was already at the unit, in the barracks. 

    At the start, colleagues supported him with essentials without him even asking. For Yurii, that mattered because it created one clear feeling: you are not alone. 

    Interviewer: Did you get any support from colleagues or the company at the start? 
    Yurii: Yes. Colleagues collected and passed on what they could, things like a sleeping bag, a first aid kit, and basic essentials. I didn’t ask for anything, but it really felt like I wasn’t left alone. 

    Yurii says he also knew his job would be kept for him. During his service, he continued receiving his salary, which gave him stability during a very uncertain period. 

    But the moment he remembers most clearly is the moment of return. 

    Interviewer: When were you demobilized, and how did your return to work go? 
    Yurii: I came back and almost immediately went to the office. The girls at reception kissed me, hugged me, and offered me coffee. It was very touching. 

    He admits he was nervous about coming back, but he was surprised by how natural everything felt. 

    Yurii: It felt like I hadn’t disappeared for years. The same people, a very warm attitude. I was worried how it would go, but they welcomed me normally and my workplace was there, without unnecessary questions. 

    For Yurii, that welcome mattered because it confirmed something simple: the team did not just “hold a position.” They truly waited for him. 

    Support Beyond Our Team 

    Support for mobilized colleagues is one part of a wider effort. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Symphony Solutions and customers have also contributed to initiatives focused on recovery, rehabilitation, and support for people affected by the war.  

    Symphony Solutions has supported the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv since its founding, and was among the first companies to support this national program. In January 2025, our Founder, Theo Schnitfink, and Board Member, Valentina Synenka, visited the center and met with patients and staff. 

    The latest figures from 2025 show the scale of UNBROKEN’s work: over 64,000 surgeries and 500,000 patients treated. It is a place where recovery is made possible through consistent care and dedicated medical teams. 

    Alongside long-term rehabilitation support, Symphony Solutions, its customers, and Symphonians have continued contributing through additional initiatives over the past four years, including Distance for a Difference, SHE Community Initiatives, charity fairs and workshops, support for hospitals and recovery programs, and other fundraising and volunteer efforts for people affected by the war. Across these initiatives, the total contribution over four years is EUR 1.4 million. This includes company-led efforts, customer contributions, and initiatives driven by Symphonians, with support directed to rehabilitation, recovery, healthcare institutions and programs, rescued families, and other urgent needs that emerged over time.

    On February 24, we simply want to acknowledge the people behind these stories and the reality they live in every day. We are grateful we can provide practical support, and grateful to the colleagues, partners, and customers who make it possible to keep showing up in meaningful ways.     At Symphony Solutions, 2025 once again reminded us that the true measure of success is not only innovation and growth, but the care we show to people, communities, and causes around us. From continuing to stand with Ukraine to supporting children and families in vulnerable situations, empowering women, and investing in wellbeing and resilience, every initiative reflected our commitment to turning care into meaningful action.

    A defining focus of the year was our continued support for Ukraine and those affected by the war. Through ongoing collaboration with the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center, we stood alongside individuals on their path to recovery, supporting long-term rehabilitation and resilience. With more than 64,000 surgeries and over 500,000 patients treated, the center remains a powerful symbol of hope. Witnessing the dedication of medical professionals and the strength of those rebuilding their lives reinforced why sustained support truly matters.

    We continued to stand firmly with our colleagues who have shown remarkable courage in defending Ukraine. Recognizing the extraordinary challenges faced by those serving, we remained committed to transforming solidarity into tangible support.

    In 2025 alone, Theo Schnitfink and Valentina Synenka also on behalf of Symphony Solutions we donated €148,000 to support mobilized Symphonians, with an additional €25,000 contributed by our client OMP. These funds helped provide financial stability during service, essential protective equipment,  and rehabilitation assistance for injured defenders.

    By combining practical support with consistent moral backing, we ensured that our colleagues felt valued, connected, and supported by their Symphony family throughout their service.

    Our commitment to care also extended to children and families in vulnerable situations. Together with the With an Angel on the Shoulder” Charity Foundation, we supported initiatives focused on medical care, hospice support, and everyday stability for families facing difficult circumstances. These efforts were not just about resources, they were about dignity, compassion, and peace of mind in moments that matter most.

    Community-driven action played a vital role throughout the year. Through the SHE Moves Charity Run, organized by the SHE. Community, Symphonians and community members came together to walk and run in support of Ukrainian women and families affected by the war. Together, these efforts raised over ₴350,000, transforming shared movement into meaningful, real-world support.

    At the same time, care extended inward through a strong focus on wellbeing, learning, and personal growth. In 2025, Symphonians engaged in mental health initiatives, wellbeing programs, and learning opportunities designed to build resilience, confidence, and long-term balance. From stress management sessions to structured learning paths and skills development programs, these initiatives reinforced a culture where people are supported not only in what they do, but in how they feel and grow.

    Across every initiative in 2025, one truth remained clear: meaningful impact is built through people, persistence, and partnership. Whether supporting rehabilitation, mobilizing communities through charity runs, or fostering wellbeing within our own organization, Symphonians consistently showed that care is most powerful when it is sustained and shared.

    The year 2023 for Symphony Solutions was marked with us continuing our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine caught up in a war of aggression forced on their sovereignty by russia. Our charity initiatives are a result of our strong stance as a company, as well as numerous personal initiatives by Symphonians. 

    Symphony Solutions was able to support on company level numerous large-scale projects, from the Stand by Ukraine charity foundation to close cooperation with the Angel Fund and UNBROKEN rehabilitation center. 

    We continued providing our support and expertise to RebuildUA. Since the start of the project, 1,314,443+ infrastructure objects were analyzed and added to the database. 

    While the focus on Ukraine remains strong, we always remember our global commitment to supporting gender equality, education, and much more. 

    Our charity initiatives in Macedonia extended to supporting SOS Children’s Village, an educational initiative for children and teens without parental care, as well as Glas Protiv Nasilstvo charity organization that provides services to women and children who survived gender-based and domestic violence. 

    We launched an NFT collection directing all the proceeds towards supporting the women in Ukraine with the NGO Центр “Жіночі перспективи”. 

    We prioritized the self-care and wellbeing of Symphonians. A newly introduced Benefits A la Carte program supports Symphonians in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, both mental and physical. 

    In 2023, we used our athletic affection turning it into a global charity initiative, having launched two charity races Distance for a Difference. Symphonians and their families around the world covered a total of 10,275 km and raised over 600K UAH that were donated to the charity organization “With an Angel on a Shoulder”.

    Symphony Solutions continues its mission of supporting injured Ukrainian defenders as part of our collaboration with the Unbroken rehabilitation center in Lviv, Ukraine. This time, we are sharing the story of the serviceman Ruslan Kapusta with the call sign ‘The Sailor.’ Despite losing his hand while in Bakhmut, Ruslan is now ready to return to the frontlines with his new prosthetic hand. 

    Ruslan ‘The Sailor’ accepted our invitation to meet up with us and share his incredible story and positive attitude. He told us about the personal sacrifices of each and every Ukrainian defending Ukraine in the frontlines. Ruslan was eager to talk about returning to his brothers in battle, certain that his new prosthetic will come “in handy”. He is already comfortable using his ‘Terminator hand’, having mastered its functionality almost instantaneously. Once back in the army, Ruslan wants to continue working with communication equipment, including Starlinks and servers, providing these crucial services of modern warfare.

    When the war started, Ruslan volunteered with local communities and the territorial defense brigades while preparing to carry out his plan to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but not before his wife and two small children were able to escape russian occupation in their hometown of Nova Kakhovka. Once Ruslan knew that his immediate family was safe, his next objective was to serve his country. A pacifist at heart, Ruslan could offer his brains and experience, having worked at sea for 11 years and specializing in radio and satellite communications. 

    Ksenia Kobryn, Chief Operating Officer at Symphony Solutions, is very involved in all our charitable initiatives and oftentimes is the first to get in touch with the defenders whom we are supporting. She personally contacted Ruslan to see to it that he could start his rehabilitation at the Unbroken Rehabilitation Center as soon as possible. Later on, Ksenia helped Ruslan reunite with his wife and children in Lviv.

    Symphony Solutions has been a strong supporter of Ukraine, ever since life took a drastic turn for many Ukrainians on February 24th, 2022. Many of you were following us on this important mission and cheering for our numerous charity initiatives, whether we were providing shelter to war refugees, or hosting charity auctions in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    However, could we have hoped to take part in a real-life miracle? Yet, this is what happened when earlier this year one of the monitors donated by Symphony Solutions took a hit saving the life of a Ukrainian defender, currently defending his country in the frontlines. We have invited to Symphony Solutions Lviv location chaplain Ruslan Tsekhmeister and charity foundation volunteer Stephania Khomiak, who personally took part in setting up an unlikely miracle in the frontlines. Let’s dive into this incredible story!

    How Symphony Solutions Teamed up with Angel Fund 

    It started in a rather trivial way, when Symphony Solutions Lviv office was left with a lot of spare equipment after its downsizing due to going fully virtual. After some of the devices were sold in a charity auction or purchased by Symphonians, Anton Sardyga, IT Specialist at Symphony Solutions, noticed that there were still many left in storage collecting dust. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, policies were put in place, which made it possible to collect and donate equipment. Anton didn’t know how to do it exactly, but he personally knew Stephania and was aware of her work for the charity fund. 

    Anton and Stephania formed a request, organized the first donation, and carried on. Gradually, we built a strong network of support.

    How a Computer Monitor Took a Bullet for Ukraine

    The equipment donated by Symphony Solutions diligently served the 106th Brigade of the Slaviansk TRO, stationed in Avdiivka, for barely two weeks, when an attack happened. The place where the military were positioned was considered relatively set. Then one day the russians detected the positions and started an attack, demolishing the street where they were stationed. Sergeant Duke from Odesa was working at the moment and even captured it on camera. The hit wave shifted the monitor and took the piece of shrapnel, protecting sergeant. Later, chaplain Ruslan received a message from Duke, retelling the story. Startled at first, he asked if they kept the monitor. Having left the site of the attack by that time, Duke indeed took care to bring the monitor as a keepsake and even signed it with a marker. The lifesaving monitor is now kept in a warehouse and most likely will be sold for charity. 

    Sergeant Duke volunteered to join the territorial defense units. He has been fighting alongside his brothers in battle since 2014, some even went through captivity. These people are in the very front of the fight, protecting their homes. These are patriots who know exactly what they are fighting for. After the lifesaving incident, Duke got married to a priest’s daughter and returned to service, now fighting near Avdiivka.

    Since last year, Symphony Solutions has been collaborating with our client, Covizmo, on a unique project dedicated to laying out the groundwork for the forthcoming restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure after the war. 

    The Rebuild Ukraine project has steadily gained visibility and recognition over the past year, which is crucial in gaining international support. However, what’s most remarkable is the technological advancement the team has achieved on the project, preparing a solid foundation of verified and consolidated data required to achieve project objectives.

    Throughout the year, the Symphony Solutions team has worked on adjusting and improving the software platform, as well as developing algorithms that streamline the accumulation and analysis of data collected from drone flights and annotators. These advancements have made data analysis five times faster than in the beginning, accelerated the annotation process, and helped create one of the most detailed and up-to-date maps of Ukrainian settlements. 

    The next course of action for the Symphony Solutions team is completing the development and integration of the system component which would allow the client to use the platform to its fullest potential.

    In 2022, Symphony Solutions faced a brutal reality alongside the rest of the world, when on February 24, 2022, an unprovoked attack unfolded and trampled the borders of sovereign Ukraine. Understanding the severity and urgency of the situation, Symphony Solutions directed all our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to where it was most needed, defining our focus areas of support. 

    In the early weeks of war, Stand by Ukraine foundation was created to raise funds and provide humanitarian and emergency aid to Ukraine. Theo Schnitfink, Founder of Symphony Solutions, made a decision in good faith to donate all the profits generated in Ukraine back to the needs of Ukrainians. Alongside continuous fundraising and charity auctions inside the company, we managed to donate almost 1 million euros in support of Ukraine’s fight for peace. 

    War came into our lives when many Symphonians and their families found themselves in dire danger and had to flee their homes. We provided help to refugees from the most affected areas, having transformed Symphony Solutions offices into shelters. We supported Symphonians who joined the fight on the frontlines, providing necessary equipment and supplies. We celebrated our soldiers, and mourned the loss of our hero, who will never be forgotten. We paved the way in a fight on the information front with Dattalion ‘data battalion’ initiative.

    One of the very first IT companies in Ukraine, Symphony Solutions joined in supporting the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv, Ukraine. We raised and donated funds for the purchase of essential medical and rehabilitations equipment, as well as funded two Easther Bionics hand prostheses for wounded Ukrainian soldiers.  

    Symphony Solutions continues supporting the country and its people in their fight for peace. We are laying out the first bricks in the new foundations with RebuildUA project and look forward to the future when Ukraine regains its full independence and territorial integrity, flourishing as it rebuilds.

    Symphony Solutions has opened its Lviv office to Ukrainians, fleeing the dangerous regions. Theo Schnitfink stayed in the shelter for four days to make sure that the place is set up with comfort and all the necessary amenities for the refugees.

    Symphony Solutions shelter in Lviv has welcomed over a hundred refugees. For a while, it also became the office of the international humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders. The company organized shelters in two other offices in Poland, Krakow and Rzeszow. The shelters welcome people to stay overnight or for a few days.

    Since the start of war, Symphony Solutions has raised 800,000 EUR in support of Ukraine’s fight for freedom, with charity initiatives set into action on multiple frontiers.     How Dattalion Came into Existence

    Dattalion, or “data battalion”, has been created in the first days of the war by Ukrainian women as an immediate response to the unprecedented attack on Ukraine. The initiative was first established on February 27, 2022, and since then has welcomed volunteers from around the world and launched a mass database of photo and video footage that documents the war atrocities of Russia on the frontlines and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

    Symphony Solutions Supports UNBROKEN: Bionic Hand Finds Owner

    Mykhailo Yurchuk, paratrooper and defender of Ukraine, became the first to receive a bionic hand prosthesis at the National Rehabilitation Center UNBROKEN. Overcoming adversity, Mykhailo is now able to move his robot fingers and gradually gets back the function of his lost limb. His story is one of many to come, as Symphony Solutions continues its support of the rehabilitation center in Lviv, Ukraine.

    Symphony Solutions purchased two bionic hands created by an American-Ukrainian company Esper Bionics. The AI-powered prostheses are the latest tech of their kind. Self-learning and highly sensitive, the bionic hands allow the patient to restore fine motor skills and perform daily tasks with ease and precision. This is in contrast to regular prostheses that are limited mainly to cosmetic purposes. The fact that this kind of treatment and rehabilitation can now be provided in Ukraine is astonishing and noteworthy. UNBROKEN doctors expect to create a positive healing environment for the patients since they won’t have to be away from family and loved ones at their most vulnerable.

    Symphony Solutions became the first IT company to support the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center, having donated over 100,000 euros to the hospital, aiming to bring our donation to a total of 500,000. This is part of our continuous charity work within the Stand by Ukraine foundation, which provides financial support and humanitarian aid for Ukraine as it’s caught in a brutal war against Russia.
